Plugs from GUMMIVOGT

Rubber plugs are used in countless areas and fulfil important protection and design tasks. Not to be underestimated are the often high demands placed on plugs. In certain fields of application, such as the automotive industry, it is expected that the material properties and appearance will be retained for years to come. Rubber plugs used in this area are also used to permanently seal openings and must fit into the overall concept of the vehicle accordingly. Other applications require a high degree of flexibility in the installation and removal of plugs. In view of these diverse and demanding requirements, GUMMIVOGT has made it its mission to provide its customers with top-quality rubber plugs for all applications. In order to achieve this goal, nothing is left to chance in production. Quality assurance extends from the strict control of all suppliers through production in the company's own plant to the reliable delivery of the end products to the customer.

Different demands on rubber plugs

Due to the widely diversified and ever more specialized production and industrial manufacturing, sealing plugs are used in a wide variety of areas. Their tasks range from simple, temporary sealing of pipes and drill holes to permanent installations, for example in the automotive industry. Depending on the area of application, different requirements are placed on rubber plugs. Plugs, which are mounted for permanent installation, often have to meet special optical requirements, which are adapted to the design of the object. Products for temporary installation, on the other hand, often place high demands on the installation and the ability of simple, safe and quick assembly and disassembly. The advantage of rubber plugs lies in their wide processing possibilities: Size, appearance, hardness and strength can be varied excellently and adapted to the respective requirements.

Rubber plugs - indispensable in production and industry

The term rubber plug covers a variety of different products made of elastomers for the temporary or permanent sealing of openings. Alternative terms are pipe plug, rubber dummy plug or car body plug. The opening to be sealed can be located in an object - for example a car body, a housing or a worktop - or can be formed by a pipe (pipe plug) or a cylinder. The advantages of rubber plugs are their flexibility: they can be adapted precisely to the respective application in terms of size, shape, colour and function. In particular, the precisely definable material properties of the elastomers used in the plugs can be specifically adapted to the operating conditions - a major advantage over other materials such as glass, metal or plastic. For these reasons, rubber plugs have largely replaced other materials. They are used worldwide in series production and are indispensable components of industrial manufacturing.
